Local Appellate Rules of Court
APPELLATE RULE 4 SELF-REPRESENTED ON
APPEAL
A defendant appealing his or her
misdemeanor conviction must be represented by an attorney. If a defendant
cannot afford to hire his or her own attorney, he or she may file a Request
for Appointment of Counsel, along with
Judicial Council Form No. MC-210, “Defendant’s Financial Statement on
Eligibility for Appointment of Counsel and Reimbursement and Record on
Appeal at Public Expense.” If the Court determines he or she meets the
requisite indigency standard, he or she will be appointed an attorney.
