Family Court matters assigned to Department 73 will be transferred to the new South County Courthouse opening in Morgan Hill in early 2009 - see Transfer Notice. Parties can ask to have their case assigned to North County (the Sunnyvale Courthouse) rather than South County, using the Stipulation and Order re Transfer form.

Family Court now in Sunnyvale:

Two Family Law Departments, the Family Clerk's Office and the Self Help Center, are now open in Sunnyvale. See the Standing Order for locations for filing and submitting documents. Click for directions and map to the Sunnyvale Courthouse.

Judgment Checklists

Declaration of Residence form

Click here to get the Declaration of Residence Form, adopted for mandatory use effective November 1, 2007. The Declaration of Residence Form should be included with any new family law or confidential paternity actions

Family cases online - Public Access website

If you would like to see information about a particular case or find out about a hearing date, click here to visit our public access Case Info website. However, you will not be able to look up information on confidential cases, including cases involving adoptions, mental health issues and custody petitions for parents who have not married.
